Junior Process & Product Development Engineer Bioplastics (f/m/d)
Tasks
BIOTEC Business Development unit is responsible for the development of new products and applications of bioplastics. The company develops new compounds and improve existing materials:
- Working in a multidisciplinary team of polymer application specialists.
- Working independently or with team members and clients on extrusion blending and other general applied polymer processing technologies such as film blowing, film extrusion and injection moulding.
- Interpretation of experimental results, so it is important to have a good theoretical background and understanding of polymer science, including interpretation of analytical data on rheology, spectroscopy (such as FT-IR), thermal analysis (DSC, TGA) and the like.
- Elaborate new proposals for material development experiments and experimental set-ups.
- Documentation and communication of experimental activities
- Carrying out experiments on laboratory and pilot extruders and on plastics processing machines in the BIOTEC Technical Centre

Qualifications:
Completed studies in chemical engineering or chemistry with special knowledge in the fields of plastics, bioplastics and natural raw materials or comparable practical training in the industry.
- Very good scientific knowledge, especially in the field of polymers
- Practice-oriented work in an interdisciplinary team
- Determination, personal responsibility, solution-oriented way of working
- Fluent English and if possible, another foreign language (e.g. Spanish, French)
- Experience with patents
