Simulation Scientist (m/f/x)

In your role as Simulation Scientist (m/f/d) you will be integrated in a team where you will advance ideas from academic stages to industrial product development. This comprises conceptional work and taking the initiative as well as developing and implementing virtual prototypes and evaluating their performance. You will also plan and execute chemical modeling and data science studies.

Your Responsibilities

• Support of various development projects through molecular modeling
• Execution of computer calculations and their evaluation on different size scales
• Programming of analysis software and scripts
• Planning, control, execution and evaluation of development projects according to project planning, if necessary, project management
• Carrying out literature and patent research
• Preparation of documentation, documents, regulations and reports
• Presentation of results internally as well as externally, if necessary, preparation of publications
• Ensuring confidentiality in the area for which you are responsible
• Support in the administration of an HPC cluster
• Contact person and advisor for employees and external parties in case of subject-specific concerns
• Active participation in interdisciplinary and international project teams

Your Profile

• Completed university studies in chemistry, physics or similar qualification, doctorate desired
• Experience appropriate to this role in the field of theoretical and physical chemistry or solid-state physics
• Experience with common quantum chemistry and/or force field software
• Very good Linux and programming skills (Python and similar) as well as with Linux-based HPC clusters
• First work experience in the area of data engineering / machine learning advantageous
• Work experience in the area of semiconductor process technology and / or printed circuit board process technology advantageous
• Very good knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• Excellent communication skills in English
• Analytical thinking, entrepreneurial thinking and acting, organizational skills, ability to work in a team and structured way in a dynamic environment
